Rafode Microfinance has been growing steadily and is now seeking radically accelerated growth. Management of Rafode is looking for a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process minded leader to scale the organization, leading a team of staff in the operations function and enhancing a performance culture among a group of talented and committed individuals.
Key Responsibility
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Officer –Financial services is primarily responsible for leading and managing comprehensively the Credit Program at Rafode.
The program officer –Financial services will take leadership in expanding the current 1 Branch outlet, to new market outlets as outlined in our strategic business plan, Develop a marketing strategy to sell Rafode products to its niche clients.
The Successful individual will be responsible for all strategies and activities of managing a healthy rapidly growing portfolio within the framework of the vision and mission of Rafode
He/she will be responsible in doing market research, program expansion, develop and test new products, Develop and implement a strategy of educating members to increase savings contribution, working closely with the program manager, Finance officer and other staff to develop fundraising strategy and proposals.
Key Qualifications
The candidate should demonstrate a passion for uplifting socio-economic livelihoods among the marginalized.
Beyond that, Rafode is looking for an individual that has experience in similar organizations under constraining framework and demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a self-driven and motivated team.
The successful candidate will most likely have had experience in the management of Microfinance for a period of 3 to 5 years. Experience in small and medium MFI with 1500 or less clients. Written atleast 4-5 year strategic plan and executed it, able to do planning, Rolling out and assessing new product and branch expansion to profitability within a short period of time. Comfortable with flexible structures and be ready to take initiative with little guidance.
She/he should be a holder of a Degree in any Social sciences from a recognized university or any other qualification with high Proficiency in MS Excel.
She/he should be well conversant with microfinance trends in Kenya, product development and innovation, strategy of expansion to new markets and maintaining a quality portfolio.
