Another job scam….…..Stay warned!

Our readers and job applicants,

There is an organization that has been advertising jobs with us and calling applicants for an interview only to ask them for money. This company (NGO) goes by the name (CIN International-Kenya) which purports to be the local chapter of Children In Need (CIN) International, a leading global independent children charity organization aiming at making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children).

As a prudent company, we feel that it is our obligation to inform the public that this are a bunch of conmen who are out there to swindle hard earned money from Kenyan job seekers. As we have insisted before, please do not pay someone any money to give you a job. Ask yourself why they don’t deduct from your first salary if it were genuine. Moreover a good employer pays for any costs incurred by prospective employees prior to employing them.

If you receive such a demand from an interview panel or a call you suspect is not genuine, please email us immediately, give us the details and be sure we will take the necessary actions.

All the best.
HCC

Just take a look at an email we received from a user of this website
Hi, am one of the people subscribed to receive feeds of the available jobs in Kenya posted on your site.

In reaction to your warning alert, I would like to hereby bring your attention to what I encountered not so long ago.

About a month ago, I received an email from a company calling themselves eastaffingsolutions, supposedly located at Golfcourse business centre, Kenyatta market, informing me that my application had been succesful. That in order to be considered for an interview, I had to pay five hundred shillings to compensate for the expenses incurred.
At first, I was naive and started thinking on how I could raise the funds before the deadline that was ten working days from then.
However, I smelt a rat when, upon contacting with the their customer care they had given, I was engaged in a very unofficial type of conversation with the message being that if I were to give them two days before making my payment as they were relocating to another office in the same building.
My suspicion grew even further when they sent me a text message urging me to pay the money. I wondered why they were more interested than me in following up the case.

I decided to ignore them and dropped the whole thing, so here I am still looking for a job, but I know al get genuine people.
It is my wish that such people realize what job seekers go through, and the last thing one would want to do to them is swindle the little money they have.
I realised I have a duty of making such people known and thats why I have sent this mail.
Any action you could take to fish them out, especially this company, will be appreciated.
Thanks.
